During the past eighty-four years, BMW has made many great cars. Our list includes all BMW production models. Additionally, we try to mention versions of the cars made by different coach makers when based upon specific BMW drive train. As a pure curiosity, we have added some rare customized cars. Additional pages were made for M-cars and Alpina cars, which basically use the same although often reinforced body with another power train.

Classic period – establishing the brand: technical excellence with an accent on the sport. First Austin Seven licensed cars – from October 1928 BMW Dixi (license bought by BMW with the factory in Eisenach, which has been producing Dixi’s since 1927); from March 22, 1929 production in Berlin – BMW Dixi DA-1 (several modifications, LHD, metric system). BMW car production ceased because of WWII in 1943).
